Energy Transfer Wins Esri Pipeline Industry SAG Award at the 2018 Esri User Conference

Global would like to congratulate the Energy Transfer team and our own John Spangler for receiving the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award for the Pipeline Industry at the recent 2018 Esri User Conference. This group was recognized for a project to migrate 70k+ miles from seven individual APDM databases to a single UPDM enterprise geodatabase and to migrate 15k+ miles from PODS database to the same UPDM enterprise geodatabase.

 

The business problem solved by this project was integrating multiple databases containing different DOT Operators into one enterprise model. This effort also moved Energy Transfers data from a topological, relational model into a geometric network model. The Esri technology implemented to complete this project included ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS and Survey123 for ArcGIS.
